Nick works mostly in watercolours, acrylics and ink. His background in commercial and architectural design has lent itself very well to the detailed pen and ink style that can be seen in much of his work, in particular his book illustrations. His landscapes are notable for their dramatic skies, and with a few strokes of a brush or a pen he is able to capture the character of old buildings, the delicacy of a tree, the flight of a bird, or the cragginess of a rock face.
